Cancer Development Mechanisms and Immune Responses

We utilize bioinformatics to process and analyze large-scale data, including patients’ genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics, to extract meaningful information, understand relationships with diseases, and discover biomarkers.

Our lab specifically aims to analyze gene expression data at the single-cell level through single-cell RNA sequencing, considering tumor heterogeneity and the tumor microenvironment to understand the interactions between cancer cells and immune cells, particularly T cells.

Ultimately, we seek to understand differences in drug response based on patients’ genetic information and identify markers that can predict prognosis and drug responsiveness, contributing to the advancement of precision medicine for personalized diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.

Key Research Directions

Integrating Multimodal Analysis at Single-Cell Resolution

We incorporate multimodal analysis at single-cell resolution to further investigate cellular differences, identify novel subtypes and biomarkers, characterize gene regulatory interactions, and interpret spatial patterns of gene expression. This approach also includes analyzing the T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire, allowing us to understand T cell diversity and its role in immune responses within the tumor microenvironment.
